Namie Amuro, Awards and Tours

The MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2009 were held on Saturday May 30 at the Saitama Super Arena.
Namie Amuro won Best Female Video for her video for "New Look" beating out superstars like Thelma Aoyama, Beyonce, Britney Spears and Hikaru Utada.
She also won Best R&B Video for the video "Sexy Girl".
Namie is currently on her "Best Fiction tour" which will wind up on July 12, 2009 at Shanghai Grand Stage in Shanghai, China.
A DVD of her performance at Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan was made on April 28 and April 29, 2009.
The tour is expected to set an attendance record for a Japanese female artist, with over 450,000 tickets sold.

Ayumi Hamasaki, Kumi Koda and Ai Otsuka

J Pop idols Ayumi Hamasaki, Kumi Koda and Ai Otsuka all had to cancel concerts last month because of the threat of Swine Flu.
Avex, the industry leading record label and management company decided to err on the side of safety to protect the public.
The concerts were expected to pull in at least an estimated 48,000 fans.
Rescheduled dates for the six shows in the Kansai (Western Japan) region have yet to be announced.
